Sheikh Faisal: The Egyptian market is promising, and the free and industrial zones have multiple opportunities

The Qatari Businessmen Association organized a business lunch in honor of the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, H.E. Mrs. Nevin Gameaa, and her accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by HE Mr. Amr El-Sherbiny, Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt to Qatar, Minister of Trade Plenipotentiary - Yahya Al-Wathiq Billah, Head of Commercial Representation, and Hatem Al-Ashry, Advisor to the Minister for Institutional Communication. The meeting discussed the investment opportunities and the incentives offered.
From QBA, the meeting was attended by H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, QBA Chairman, Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Al-Fardan QBA First deputy to the chairman and board members: H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani and Mr. Sherida Al Kaabi, and from QBA members Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Thani, Sheikh Faisal bin Fahd Al Thani, Mr. Khalid Al-Mannai, Mr. Nabil Abu Issa, and Mr. Ihsan Al-Khaymi.
The Egyptian Minister of Trade said that the meeting confirmed the unprecedented support to boost the economic and trade relations between the two countries to distinguished levels, inviting members of the Qatari Businessmen Association to visit Cairo; and discuss investment opportunities and potential cooperation, valuing the existing investments of the Qatari private sector, in different regions of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The minister also reviewed the Egyptian experience in establishing and managing industrial complexes, which resulted in the establishment of 17 industrial complexes in 15 governorates nationwide, comprising all productive sectors.
Gamea indicated that during the meeting, all parties agreed on re-activating the Egyptian-Qatari Joint Business Council in a way that contributes to strengthening cooperation and economic integration and encouraging the private sector in the two countries to increase joint investments and inter-trade between Egypt and Qatar during the next stage.


The Importance of Collaboration 
For his part, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, QBA Chairman stressed out the importance of strengthening joint cooperation between Qatar and Egypt in various economic sectors, especially in the new industrial zones, and benefiting from the great opportunities and potentials of the two countries in this regard, pointing to the important role played by the sector in both countries to strengthen bilateral relations.
Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim also welcomed the invitation to visit Egypt and visit the industrial complexes and the investment opportunities they offer.
For his part, Mr. Hussein Al-Fardan, QBA first deputy stressed out the importance of developing joint commercial, industrial and investment relations, highlighting the will of the Qatari businessmen to invest in the Egyptian market and benefit from the significant investment opportunities available in the industry and service sectors.

Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani, QBA board member, pointed out the importance of strengthening joint efforts between businessmen in the two countries, to expand Egyptian-Qatari investment projects, especially since there are industrial partnerships between 4,500 Egyptian and Qatari companies, stressing out also the importance of introducing Qatari companies to investment opportunities in Egypt to encourage them.
Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal also stated that the meeting reviewed all the trade agreements signed between the two countries and the possibilities of benefiting from these agreements, as well as the Arab Free Trade Zone agreement in increasing the rates of trade exchange between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of holding an exhibition of Egyptian products in Doha during the month of February, and another exhibition of heritage products, in addition to the possibility of Qatar's participation in the “Our Heritage” exhibition of products and handicrafts.
