QBA meeting with MUSIAD delegation and Signing an MOU for bilateral cooperation

The Qatari Businessmen Association organized a meeting with the delegation of the Association of Independent Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (MUSIAD), established in 1990 by a small group of Turkish businessmen, and has now expanded to include 11,000 members, 81 branches in all cities of Turkey, and 208 representative offices in 74 countries. From MUSIAD, Ms. Laura Gok, Director of MOUs at MUSIAD headed the delegation, also Ms. Seyma Behar, Member of the Committee that is responsible for the State of Qatar in MUSIAD attended, with Mr. Cahid Usta, Director of MUSIAD Middle East Region and Mr. Omar Jawash, Director General of BrandCenter company. The meeting was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between MUSIAD & QBA, where these activities come on the sidelines of the delegation's visit to Doha to discuss investment opportunities and develop economic relations between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by QBA members, Mr. Salah Al-Jaidah, Mr. Saud Al-Mana, Mr. Mohammed Al-Rabban, Mr. Abdullah Al-Kubaisi, Mr. Mohammad Althaf, Mr. Ihsan Al-Khiyami and Ms. Sarah Abdullah, Deputy GM of QBA.

At the beginning of the meeting, QBA members welcomed the Turkish delegation, highlighting the strength of the Qatari-Turkish relations and their economic and political prosperity and stressed on the role of the memorandum of understanding in expanding cooperation opportunities and enhancing trade and economic relations.

Mr. Salah Al Jaidah also pointed out the strong ties between both countries and urged Turkish investors to invest in Doha. He pointed to the important initiatives provided by the State to the foreign investor, such as the new investment law, which allows 100% ownership in most economic sectors, As well as the state-owned logistics facilities such as Free Zones, Hamad International Airport and Qatar Port, stressing Qatar's position as a leading investment destination in the region.

From their side, the Turkish delegation thanked QBA for this meeting and expressed their happiness with the distinguished brotherly relations and called for the development of the Qatari-Turkish economic ties to reach the level of the aspirations of the two countries. The Turkish delegation also presented the future plans of their association, where they are establishing a representative office in the State of Qatar and expanding their business and economic activities by bringing Turkish brands to the country, these brands include clothes and furniture where they aim to set up in Qatari new shopping centers

Mr. Saud Al-Mana also spoke about the mutual interest between the two sides to explore more opportunities for trade and economic cooperation and to open up new fields to promote joint investments in light of their economic and trade significant potentials

At the end of the meeting, both sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding and exchanged commemorative gifts. It is worth mentioning that this memorandum reflects the joint vision of both QBA & MUSIAD on the importance of joint cooperation, especially after the substantial shift achieved in their mutual economic relations.

It is worth noting that the MOU aims at promoting trade and investment cooperation between Turkey and Qatar, encouraging and facilitating direct contact between the businessmen of both associations, promoting and developing trade activities and working together to increase trade exchange and create favorable conditions and provide all the necessary assistance for companies and investors from both countries, as well as encouraging members of both associations to participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, seminars and other activities organized by both parties.
