QBA Private Meeting with H.E. Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia
The Qatari Businessmen Association had a meeting with H.E. Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and his accompanying delegation which included the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Mr. Gegham Gharibjanian Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Qatar, during their visit to Qatar which aimed at discussing the cooperation opportunities and develop economic relations between the two countries
From the Qatari Businessmen Association, the meeting was attended by Mr. Hussein Al Fardan, QBA First Deputy, also from QBA Members Mr. Khalid Al Mannai, Mr. Maqbool Khalfan, and Mr. Youssef Al Mahmoud as well as QBA Deputy General Manager Ms. Sarah Abdallah
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Hussein welcomed his excellency the Armenian Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, confirming the importance of the visit in discussing ways of cooperation between the two countries and working to boost economic and trade relations. He also pointed out the interest of Qatari businessmen in identifying possible areas of cooperation in Armenia and the investment opportunities offered.
For his part, the Prime Minister thanked QBA Members for this meeting, during which he expressed the importance of developing relations between the two countries and learn more about the business environment in Armenia and some of the major investment projects that may attract the interest of Qatari businessmen.
His Excellency also spoke about Armenia's economic sector, describing it as a resilient economy, stressing his optimism for what the World Bank figures show, which predicted 3.5% economic growth for Armenia in 2022, according to the World Bank Group's "Global Economic Prospects" report. The report also expects Armenia's economic growth to be 4.6 percent. % in 2023 and 4.9% in 2024
The Prime Minister also spoke about the most important sectors and investment opportunities in Armenia, as he talked about the tourism and agricultural sectors, which he considers great opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
For their part, QBA Members expressed their interest in exploring new international markets and their readiness to identify areas of cooperation in Armenia. They also confirmed their keenness to support and develop bilateral relations in various fields, the parties agreed to organize a visit to study these opportunities closely and learn more about the Republic of Armenia.
