Macedonia Delegation

QBA received an official High Level delegation from Macedonia, headed by H.E Mr. Abdul Kader Mamdi Minister of State of the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its Premises on June 14th  09 .

Sheikh. Faisal Bin Qassim AL –Thani, Chairman of QBA , Mr. Nasser Sulaiman Al –Haidar & Mr. Maqbool Habib Khalfan were there to welcome the Macedonian Delegation.

The Minister of State of the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reviewed the most important Economic Development in Macedonia, explaining the major initiatives of the Macedonian Government to develop an attractive environment for foreign investment such as the encouraging tax laws that reduced the tax rate on corporate profits from 12 to 10 percent. In addition to the taxation exemption of the new projects in the first five years and also there are facilities to invest in land and real estate in addition to the presence of skilled and specialized manpower.

The Macedonian Minister also expressed the interest of the Supreme investment organization headed by the Macedonian Prime Minister and with the membership of the Minister in strengthening cooperation with Qatari Businessmen Association and to build a bridge to show the Qatari Businessmen & investors the Cooperation and investment opportunities in Macedonia

Chairman of QBA commended the interest shown by the Macedonian Public and Private sectors in activating economic relations with Qatar, this is reflected in the mutual visits between the two countries and the trade agreements signed recently such as the investment promoting agreement and the commercial cooperation agreement. Shk. Faisal also expressed the interest of Businessmen in exploring the cooperation & investment opportunities in Macedonia especially in the tourism and agriculture fields.   

At the end of the meeting the Macedonian Minister invited QBA’s chairman and members to visit Macedonia to learn more about the investment opportunities there.
