Minister of Public Health Meets with the Qatari Businessmen Association and Representatives of Private Hospitals and Medical Centers

His Excellency Mr. Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Public Health, held a meeting with the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA), headed by His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, QBA’s Chairman, along with representatives of private hospitals and medical centers.

During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed aimed at strengthening the partnership between the Ministry of Public Health and the private sector and increasing its participation in providing high-quality healthcare services in the State of Qatar.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Nawaf Bin Nasser Al Thani, QBA Board Member, and QBA members: Mr. Omar Hussain Alfardan, Mr. Ashraf Abu Issa, Mr. Abdulsalam Abu Issa, Mr. Maqbool Habib Khalfan, Mr. Yousuf Al-Mahmoud, Mr. Ihsan Alkhiyami, and Dr. Mohammed Altaf, Mrs. Sarah Abdallah, QBA’s General Manager, in addition to officials from the Ministry of Public Health representatives from insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

The meeting also discussed the Ministry's vision and strategic plans to advance the development of the health sector, and highlighted the priority health projects through 2030, in addition to updates on the health insurance system, and facilitating the licensing procedures for health facilities and practitioners, while ensuring quality

The meeting also touched on some of the Ministry of Public Health's key initiatives to strengthen pharmaceutical security in the country, and to support cooperation with the private sector in this important sector, in addition to facilitating the technical and regulatory requirements for food establishments, while ensuring food safety across all stages of the food supply chain.

The meeting also discussed strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors in health crisis and emergency management plans, along with other important topics.

This meeting comes as part of the Ministry of Public Health's efforts to enhance the role of the private health sector, address any challenges it faces, and increase its participation in providing health services and developing medical tourism, as well as building capabilities in long-term specialties such as precision medicine, in line with Qatar's Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030.
