QBA's Meeting With The Egyptian Business Delegation

The Qatari Businessmen Association members conducted a business meeting with a highly distinguished delegation from the Egyptian Businessmen Federation on the margin of the 2nd Arab-South American Business forum that was organized last week in doha by QBA in cooperation with the Ministry of Business&Trade and the organizing committee of the 2nd Summit of Arab-South American countries.

The meeting headed by QBA’s Chairman Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani from the Qatari side was attended by QBA’s secretary General Mr.Issa Abu Issa ,and QBA’s Members Mr. Shrida Al Kaabi and Mr. Maqboul Habib Khalfan.while heading the Egyptian delegation was Eng.Hussien Sabour ,chairman of the Egyptian Businessmen federation along with EBF’s Secretary general Mr.Mohammad Youssef Kamal,Magdi Manzalawy Chairman Tiba Engineering Industries company,Hani Mohammad Sulieman chairman Tamima United company,Alaa eddine Hussien chairman Egypt Power Corp,Sherif EL Gabaly Abu Zaabal Cement and chemicals,Abdulalim nawara Chairman Al manar Corp

The Egyptian business delegates represented various active economic fields included engineering industries, cement and chemicals corps,power,general trading,and tourism .

The meeting was initiated by welcoming remarks from QBA’s chairman Shk.Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani ,were he stressed on the importance of such high representation from the Egyptian businessmen Federation in such a regional and global economic activity in doha ,in strengthening the ties between the businessmen communities of both sides and opening new doors for mutual economic cooperation.

The meeting discussed several substantial issues that would facilitate the interaction between businessmen of both sides, including the importance of strengthening and unifying the Arab business community in the face of the recent global economic crisis.

The attendees also discussed further activating the MOU that was signed between the Qatari businessmen Association and the Egyptian Businessmen federation in the last years, through exchanging joint projects proposals and providing information on business opportunities and business developments in both countries.

At the end of the meeting the Egyptian Businessmen federation extended an invitation to the Qatari businessmen to visit Egypt.

QBA hosted a dinner honoring the visit of the Prime Minister of Albania H.E. Sali Barisha and his accompanying delegation.

The dinner took place at Mr. Issa Abdul Salam Abu Issa, QBA’s Secretary General Residence

Before dinner a meeting was held between the Albanian and Qatari official delegates ,the meeting included:H.E the Prime Minister, Deputy speaker of the house, Advisor to the Prime minister for Economic Affairs the ambassador of Albania to Qatar from the Albanian Side, the Qatari side included Qatar Minister of Culture H.E. Hamad Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari, QBA Chairman Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, QBA secretary general Mr. Issa Abdul Salam Abu Issa, QBA board member Sheikh Hamad Bin Faisal Al Thani and QBA members: Mr. Sherida Saad Al Kaabi, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Ahmad Al Thani, Mr. Khaled Al Manaai, Mr. Nasser Sleiman Al Haydar & Mr. Makbul Habib Khalfan.

The meeting discussed ways to activate investment and trade flows between the two states, were the Albanian prime minister explained the investment incentives offered by the Albanian government for attracting investments like the taxation regulations, and the freedom for property ownership.

QBA’s chairman Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani in his part expressed the interest of Qatari Businessmen to collaborate in the development of Albania’s economy & to discover the opportunity of business and investment. Sheikh Faisal pointed out the importance of having a successful model for foreign investment which would constitute an excellent promotion and incentive for other investors.

It was finally agreed to work on organizing a business forum to gather businessmen from the two countries.

QBA together with University of Qatar Faculty of Business organized the visit of a highly ranked business delegation of the CEOs Association.

The group is formed of 124 member active in different economical sectors such as energy, industry, educational, infra structure and banking.

The members are coming from more than 50 different countries. The visit to the gulf countries was classified as an effort from the CEOs Association to create bridges between the members & the GCC Businessmen.

During their one day stay QBA arranged for them a full day program and a lunch were leading businessmen from Qatar attended & Mr. Issa Abdul Salam Abu Issa QBA General Secretary gave a speech welcoming the visitors & highlighting on the importance of such visits to discover the potential of opportunities in Qatar & to create an international business network
